    Description

    Ponte dell'Olio, centralissimo complesso immobiliare di valore storico, architettonico e naturalistico

    House - Ponte dell'Olio PC

    San Bono observes us when we tiptoe and reverently enter into the chapel used by the Benedictine nuns who, last inhabitants, lived in the rooms of the historic residence called and known as “Villa San Bono”, from the name of its holy dedicatee.

    Presumably built during the 18th century and born as a neoclassical villa, over the time its history has seen famous people with important names walking through its rooms with imposing and majestic frescoed ceilings and cooling off in the shade of the monumental Cedar of Lebanon in the centuries-old park which embraces the villa, before it became a spinning mill and finally a convent.

    It takes a moment getting lost in the history and halls of this monumental real estate complex  but what really matters is that it is a fabulous fusion of art, culture and nature that are concentrated within it. The curious eye of those looking from the outside is shielded by the great stone walls surrounding the villa which instead itself observes the town from the top of the hill on which it stands and from the spectacular terrace at the foot of the small bell tower.

    Some technical details, illustrative but not exhaustive:

    • the complex is made up of two buildings: the villa (A/8), the oldest building, on two floors above ground (ground and first) plus attic and basement, for a total of 27 rooms and a floor area of approximately 900 commercial m2; the adjacent building (A/3), a more recent construction, and the chapel (B/7), for a total of approximately 300 m2 on two floors above ground (ground and first);
    • the romantic and nineteenth-century park, with hedges, gravel paths and stone benches, with centuries-old specimens of Cedars of Lebanon, Firs and Magnolias, has a surface area of approximately 4,700 m2 and housed an old ice house
    • Since these ones are properties of historical, architectural and naturalistic value, they are protected by the art. 10 of Legislative Decree no. 42/2004 and require scientific restoration and recovery and rehabilitation of free areas and the execution of works and interventions is subject to authorization by the competent Superintendencies.

    The villa is very central in Ponte dell’Olio and a stone’s throw from the San Giacomo Clinic, 20 km from Piacenza and 90 from Milan, it could have an interesting destination for luxury residential use.

    Once upon a time there was a villa and its park that became a spinning mill and was a monastery and now there is still a dream place awaiting, anxiously and impatiently, its new future.
